Carmelized Angel Food Cake

How have I never posted this recipe before? It’s soooo easy, but a little different, delicious, and impressive. It’s a great dessert to serve dinner guests. This recipe will serve four, but you can always double or triple it.

1 loaf of angel food cake, (yes, store bought!) If they don’t have a loaf, you can use a round cake but it isn’t as easy to work with. Cut four slices of the cake, about an inch thick. Spread the following mixture on the top and sides:

1/2 stick of softened butter

1/4 c brown sugar

1/8 tsp cinnamon

Broil about 6″ from the heat until the topping is brown and carmelized.

I like to serve it with sliced strawberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. To die for!
